Avon Perfectly Flesh Nailwear Pro Review

There is something in the quest for finding the perfect nude that deems it completely never ending! Whether it is a lipstick or a nailpolish, we will always be on the look for the perfect nude shade that compliments each skin tone.

This one by Avon, together with this from a previous post, are my favourites! It's called Perfectly Flesh and in my case it's completely justified! It matches my skin tone perfectly and gives an effortless but also polished look to my nails. Perfectly Flesh is a perfectly good (puns everywhere) choice for when you want the attention drawn to something else and definitely not your nails!

As far as the quality goes, I'm very pleased by Avon. The nail polishes have great lasting power even without a topcoat and they go completely opaque with two coats - or three if you have humungus nails like me! The brush is wide enough to make the application easier and the formula dries really quick - which is always a plus!!

Sephora Hot & Spicy Nail Polish

Sephora has always been a favourite as far as nail polishes are concerned. They're affordable, long lasting, with a wide brush and a great selection of colours.

Hot & Spicy (link) is an almost neon orange, although it looks a little soft in the bottle. It's great for the warmer months, as it gives an instant summery vibe and it looks even greater if you have a tan on!!

As I said the brush is short and wide, which makes the application really easy and fast!! It dries pretty quickly and as you can see it's really shiny even without a topcoat. The consistency is not too runny and you can get an even opaque colour with just one (!!) coat.

For further reviews, check the customer ratings on the sephora site and you won't be disappointed!!

A Pop Of Magenta - SiXteen Cosmetics Nail Polish

SiXteen Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Polish (No.459)

In my last nail post (link here) I talked all about the yellows and blues and everything in between.
Today I'm here with a new favourite that answers to the name "Magenta".

I was looking for something new for Spring 2014 and the regular pinks didn't do anything for me.. Until I stumbled upon this beauty. It's a purply pink almost magenta colour with warm undertones.

I am also amazed by the quality of this nail polish, as it is on the cheaper end and I wouldn't expect much from it. With two coats the colour is completely opaque and it dries really really quickly. I've been wearing it for the last 4 days without a topcoat and there is no chipping whatsoever.

With so many colours in this line I'm sure there is something in there for you!! Check it out..

Nails For Spring - from yellow to blue

L-R : ERRE DUE exclusive (120), AVON Speed Dry+ (lime splatter), Berevis Paris, Petit Bordeau (51), Sixteen Cosmetics (475), ERRE DUE last minute (49), SEPHORA (picnic in the park), Beauty Line Cosmetics (404), SEPHORA (green tea time), SEPHORA (vintage sweater)

+ me!!

I'm trying in any way that I can to bring some colour back in my life, after all the greys and the burgundies of the winter. The transition started with a nude nail polish (as you can see here) and now is progressing with every colour from yellow to blue that I can find in my stash. From a pale - almost white - yellow all the way to a deep blue, with a middle stop for my favourite mints and greens, this post can give you a great inspiration if you want a pop of colour and a touch of spring on your nails!!

For those who love their pinks and corals and oranges, please don't be discouraged, as I'm saving those ones for later!!

Essence Gel-Look Topcoat

As I promised, this is a review for my beloved Essence Gel-Look Topcoat. The term beloved really gives away the tone of the review, doesn't it?! But it's the truth..
This topcoat is my favourite these past months, as it gives a perfect finish to any nail polish (little exception for the mattes of course) and it makes my manicure last for weeks without chiping. The XXXL Shine claim is completely true and for the price of it I think it is a really good product that I would definately repurchase!!
The only downside to it - oh I hope it had none - is that it doesn't dry very quickly. So have patience girls, for perfect nails take time!!

The Nude Nail

So lately I've been a fan of the "au naturel" nail as seen in the catwalks and I was on the hunt for the perfect nude. After trying a lot of shades - from pinky ones to grey and back again - I stumbled upon this gem from Sixteen Cosmetics. It's really pigmented and you only need one-ish swipe to have a full coverage, while it dries really quickly (as the name suggests). Also it's the perfect shade for my skintone.

As for base and topcoat, I used my trusty and well-loved Avon Nail Experts base and a fairly new Essense Gel-Look topcoat (see the review here).
