Aussie Colour Mate Shampoo Review

Over a month ago, when I decided to colour my hair purple-brown, I also decided to go and purchase this Aussie Colour Mate Shampoo.
So many days after and with the bottle almost finished I'm still a little bit confused about this product.

On the pros, it smells heavenly, even if you just have it laying in you room, the whole place will smell of peach!! Also I think it did a pretty good job maintaining my hair colour - or at least not fading it. It can last a really long time as a little bit goes a long way and even a small pea sized amount will make a beautiful velvety foam.

On the cons now.. I have noticed that right after I've shampooed, my hair feel a little bit harsh to the touch which let me tell you.. it's weird!! Fortunately this all goes away when you apply conditioner but still.. What's going on Aussie?? Also - call me picky - but with all the rave going on with Aussie products I expected to be wowed by it.

All in all it's a nice shampoo and you should at least try it if you have coloured hair and you're looking for something new. As for me, right after this bottle is finished, I will browse the market once again in the hopes of finding Mr.Perfect - shampoo that is.

Procrastination Weekend

It's one of those weekends when creativity and energy go for a walk leaving you with their little cousin, procrastination!!
So let's embrace it and take it out of our system.. I'm Dim and I'm procrastinating!!

I wanted to go for walks, organise some future posts for the blog, study for my exams and many many other things.. but instead I lied on my bed like there was no tomorrow!! And let me say, I enjoyed it!!

As far as I'm concerned there are times that you just need to shut down and recharge without even a hint of shame!! Just watch TV, browse the web and maybe read a magazine.. And some times during the endless and pointless browsing in your computer, you come to discover a couple of new exciting things!!

So in this weekend post I haven't got a great little place for brunch to recommend, or a new purchase to show but I have this..

and this..

Two new shows, with great premises and really really fun to watch!! About A Boy and Mixology..
They're both in their first season and I really hope they do go on..
So , if you're a junkie for TV shows like I am, give these two a go!! You won't be disappointed!

MAC Magenta Lip Pencil

Oh you can't imagine my joy as I write this post.. Magenta Lip Pencil is finally in my possesion!!
Towards the end of winter and with the first glimpses of spring, I became quite obsessed with any lip product that is purple based. And what lipliner is more apropriate than Magenta Lip Pencil from MAC.

The colour is a true magenta, that complements both fuchia lipsticks and more purply ones.
It glides on the lips easily and it is opaque with the first swipe. I can say with confidence that it is the perfect lip pencil, as it stays on the lips for quite a long time, even after you've eaten, and it is not at all drying.

You could definitely wear it on it's own, although I have my eye on some lipsticks that could go with it - Heroine and Rebel I'm talking to you!!

Walk In The Park

Last week my and my friend Gina decided to go for a walk at the National Garden. Even though it's so close to Syntagma it feels as if you are walking around the countryside and it's just perfect when the sun is up and shining.

With such a great scenery I couldn't resist the temptation of taking a few pictures *insert innocent face* and showing you some items I purchased lately in two of my favourite shops, Pull&Bear and H&M.

I saw this skirt almost two months ago in the launch of the Pull&Bear Spring Season and although I searched and searched, I was never able to find it in any of the departments I went to. So let's all thank Pull&Bear for creating an e-shop and averting this almost-crisis. While browsing through the e-shop I stumbled upon this stack of rings and I immediately heard bells. Come on people... it's turquoise and gold and it's pretty and summery (end of the frenzy) so I had to buy them.

As far as the H&M purchases are concerned, I don't have a lot to tell you.. I happened to pass by H&M, I went in and the rest is history.. After all a simple t-shirt is always on hand and so are minimal accessories.

Eat - Shop - Repeat

This Sunday we are back to basics, meaning : Eat - Shop - Repeat is back!! With a slight variation as the "Eat" part stands once again for "Drink" (same old Dim), and one of my all time favourite "Shop".

EAT : As an avid tea drinker I'm always on the hunt for some new flavour or brand or whatever the market has to provide. On a recent walk around the local shops I visited Tiger (it's a classic for me) and found this packet of four loose leaf tea tins in yummy spring flavours - pomegranate, forest fruits, white peach and plain green tea. Either hot or cold these are light and perfect for any time of day.

SHOP : Now let's be serious and talk about this gift of heavens that answers to the name of MAC. One of the best quality makeup brands out there, it may be on the pricey side but let me tell you.. It's SO Worth It!!
My MAC collection is a tiny one right now, but I'm working on making it bigger and better. The latest addition, Magenta Lip Pencil. It's gorgeous and really works all year around. Expect a detailed post soon.

Pamper Yourself feat. H&M facemasks

As I promised several posts back, I'm here to report on the H&M facemasks.

I tried them all and I have to say I like them a lot. They smell amazing (pear&melon was my favourite) and they do a pretty decent job - especially regarding their price. So, to the particulars :

The Dragon Fruit mask is an exfoliating as well as cleansing mask, which you first rub on your skin and then let it sit for 15 minutes before you rinse it with water. It removes all the dead skin and leaves your face soooo soft.
The Olive Oil mask is your standard mud mask. It is perfect for deep cleansing and for skins with large pores and oiliness.
The Coconut Water mask (which smells exactly like coconut water) is a moisturising mask and can be used after you cleanse your skin. Although it says that it has cleaning properties, I would say it focuses more on the moisturising part. Leaves the skin soft and fresh, however if your skin is extra dry you could use a light moisturiser afterwards.
Last but not least the Pear & Melon mask.. This was by far my favourite mostly because of the scent. It smells like summer - melon, duh - and I loved it. This one is also used after your face cleansing routine and it can calm you skin and senses, leaving you with an oh so smooth skin.

It was really exciting trying these masks out and I was very pleased with them. Great plus is the quantity, as they have enough product to use more than 2 times.
If you like to pamper yourself with a facemask now and then, you should definitely try these ones.
You won't regret it.

A Pop Of Magenta - SiXteen Cosmetics Nail Polish

SiXteen Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Polish (No.459)

In my last nail post (link here) I talked all about the yellows and blues and everything in between.
Today I'm here with a new favourite that answers to the name "Magenta".

I was looking for something new for Spring 2014 and the regular pinks didn't do anything for me.. Until I stumbled upon this beauty. It's a purply pink almost magenta colour with warm undertones.

I am also amazed by the quality of this nail polish, as it is on the cheaper end and I wouldn't expect much from it. With two coats the colour is completely opaque and it dries really really quickly. I've been wearing it for the last 4 days without a topcoat and there is no chipping whatsoever.

With so many colours in this line I'm sure there is something in there for you!! Check it out..

Brunch Brunch Brunch

As you can understand this was supposed to be a Sunday post, but fate had it in another way.. Nevermind, I'm here now and I have a great place to recommend!

On Saturday I was craving brunch.. I know Sunday is the most common for brunch but I follow my heart and my stomach at all times!! So I went to Hip Cafe!! It is near Syntagma square and it's the best place for brunch I've gone lately!!

I went for pancakes with maple syrup and seasonal fruits, although I also got a taste from my friend's chocolate chip pancakes, and I gotta tell you.... It was heaven on a plate!!
The menu is short and efficient, with variations on the classic pancakes and many different plates with eggs!!

So next time you're on a walk in the centre of Athens, go by Syntagma and give Hip a go!! You won't regret it..

Clinique Happy Perfume Spray

Last week I got my hands on an itsy bitsy teenie weenie bottle of Clinique Happy perfume spray (courtesy of Madame Figaro) and after trying it, I fell in love with it.

It has floral base notes but the first thing that hits you is a citrusy scent, which after a little search I found out to be bergamot, ruby red grapefruit and mandarin tree blossom - can it get any more spring-like?

I will surely finish this tiny bottle (nothing difficult in that) and who knows?! I might have found a new favourite perfume for spring!!

If you like that kind of scents on you, then you should definitely try it. After all what's wrong with a little more "happy" in your life?!

L'Oreal Ideal Fresh Face Wash Review

The love I have for foamy cleansers is well known from previous posts (read said post here) and until now my love was saved for the Avon Solutions Foaming Cleanser. But after two bottles of this love were used and done, I decided to move on and find something new.

That's when L'Oreal Ideal Fresh came to my life. It has the same technology as the Avon one, as it is a clear liquid in the bottle that comes out as a velvety foam, with a rich and soft consistency and a citrusy scent. I massaged it gently on my skin and it took away all my makeup - mascara and lipstick included - and left my skin feeling clean and fresh. As it is aimed for normal to combination skin it doesn't leave a dry feeling to the skin, that most cleansers for combination to oily skin tend to leave. Even though I have oily skin, there's nothing worse than feeling your skin dry and fragile - I like clean, but not SO clean.

Overall it is a great cleanser and it's greatly paired with the Ideal Fresh Toner I've been using for quite some time now. So, thumbs up L'Oreal..

Eat - Shop - Repeat

In this week's eat - shop - repeat (oh yeah it has come to stay) we're dealing with my problems - once again.
Problem no1 : I can't go past an H&M without going in - and buying something
Problem no2 : I'm a sucker for anything sickly sweet - preferably drinkable - and if it says Starbucks on, even better!!

EAT : Or as I said above, drink!! I have been a loyal subject of the Starbucks realm for many years, but I hadn't tried heaven until my darling dear Bethany Mota shared the Cotton Candy Frappuccino (click for the video) with us mere commoners. It's a  vanilla cream frappuccino with raspberry syrup - and some drops of unicorn tears apparently - and it's my new favourite addiction.

SHOP : I went past an H&M and the rest is , as they say, history!! This time I went for skincare and stocked up in some facemasks (link). I tried to have some variety in my picks so I can have (and also give you) a better opinion. I got four to begin with and if they are as good as I've heard, then I'll be back for the whole selection. Stay tuned this week for a post on my experience with them.

+ Bethany also made a video recreating the Cotton Candy Frappuccino! So for anyone interested heeeere it is!!

Fructis Oil To The Rescue

If you like to change your hair -colour, length, style- all the time, then you are my kind of girl!
I, in particular, like to change my hair colour pretty often. From a natural brunette to a bold ombre and more recently to a plumy-purply brown!!

Therefor, my hair are severely damaged and with very dry ends. As a girl who likes her long hair and is not yet ready to chop them off, I searched and searched for an alternative.

And Garnier Fructis came to the rescue. Two hair oils, the Miraculous Oil and the Goodbye Damage Split Ends Serum are my saviors.
I apply the Miraculous Oil everytime I wash my hair when they are damp and after they dry I apply the serum to the ends of my hair for extra nourishing. In between washes if my ends feel dry I apply some more of the serum and it makes them feel soft and revitalised.

If your hair are like mine, then give this duo a chance, as it will probably save your life - or at least hair!!

Nails For Spring - from yellow to blue

L-R : ERRE DUE exclusive (120), AVON Speed Dry+ (lime splatter), Berevis Paris, Petit Bordeau (51), Sixteen Cosmetics (475), ERRE DUE last minute (49), SEPHORA (picnic in the park), Beauty Line Cosmetics (404), SEPHORA (green tea time), SEPHORA (vintage sweater)

+ me!!

I'm trying in any way that I can to bring some colour back in my life, after all the greys and the burgundies of the winter. The transition started with a nude nail polish (as you can see here) and now is progressing with every colour from yellow to blue that I can find in my stash. From a pale - almost white - yellow all the way to a deep blue, with a middle stop for my favourite mints and greens, this post can give you a great inspiration if you want a pop of colour and a touch of spring on your nails!!

For those who love their pinks and corals and oranges, please don't be discouraged, as I'm saving those ones for later!!
